Self-Publishing Tips

One of the most important things you can do for yourself before your self-publish is to come up with a strong self-publishing strategy.

So many authors who decide to self-publish jump in headfirst without thinking about their long term goals or plan, but I can tell you from years of experience that it’s almost always better to take a step back and come up with a strategy before you leap straight into publishing.

Why do you need a strategy? Trust me when I say there are more reasons than I could list in a single video, but for today, I’ve got 5 of the most compelling reasons why you need a strong self-publishing strategy.

Take a few minutes to watch and then come back to let me know in the comments whether you have your self-publishing strategy already figured out, or if you want to develop a great strategy but are unsure where to start.

What’s Your Self-Publishing Strategy?

Believe me, I completely understand how overwhelming and frustrating it can seem when you’re just getting started. All you want to do is write and get your book into the world. You are so anxious to find readers and start earning money, but it’s hard to know what strategy to follow or how to market you book.

Coming up with a strategy is part of the marketing, and success often comes down to how you’re packaging and presenting your book to the world. Yes, advertising can be an amazing way to sell books, but without a strong branding and publishing strategy, you aren’t going to get the most for your advertising dollars.

When I’m talking about strategy, I’m talking about everything from your book cover art to your series title. Your genre to your publishing schedule. Hopefully after watching today’s video, you’re convinced that having a great self-publishing strategy is absolutely the best way to go, but you might be wondering how you’re going to come up with the best strategy for your career and your books.

Over the next few weeks, I’ll be covering the self-publishing strategy that launched my career and the careers of many other full-time indie authors. Take a deep breath. You are going to figure this out. It’s going to take some time, but I promise you that I will give you some great information that will help you come up with a strong self-publishing strategy in no time.
