To say I’ve made some big mistakes over the course of my career would be an understatement. I have really made some bad choices and mistakes over the past decade in indie publishing my various series, and I am going to spill the tea on myself today in hopes that my mistakes will help you make better ones for yourself.
Some of these mistakes are things I did with the actual writing of the books, while others are marketing and strategy mistakes.
It’s not always easy to reflect on the biggest mistakes, and it’s certainly not easy to lay them out for everyone to see.
At the same time, though, I think it’s incredibly important to show that you can be a success despite making mistakes.
So often, we put a tremendous amount of pressure on ourselves to be perfect. In fact, we sometimes put so much pressure on this idea of perfection that we fail to publish or take any action at all.
If you take nothing else away from this video, I hope you hear this.
Don’t get so stressed about what mistakes you might make that you don’t get in the game.
I hope you can see through my story that I’m happy and I feel very much like a success despite all of these big mistakes.
